The LoRaWAN network from Swisscom reaches 97% of the swiss population.

By coincidence our first sensor was to be installed in an area without LoRaWAN coverage (the chance was literally 3%, right?).

To overcome the situation we installed a Dragino Gateway that transports packages from LoRa to the common internet. The gateway pushes the messages through MQTT to our Azure IoT Hub. From there the procedure is the same as if the message was sent through the LoRaWAN from Swisscom.
